This surface burner igniter creates the arc that lights gas at the cooktop/range burner. Replace a cracked or worn electrode to restore fast, reliable ignition and reduce repeated clicking when trying to light a burner.

  • Generates a high-voltage spark at the surface burner to ignite gas
  • Typical symptoms: no spark, intermittent/weak spark, burner lights only with a match, or constant clicking
  • Mounts near the burner head; works with the spark module and switch harness
  • Inspect for a cracked ceramic insulator, damaged tip, or loose lead
What's included: One surface burner igniter/electrode
  • Disconnect power and shut off gas before servicing
  • Handle the ceramic insulator carefully; avoid touching or contaminating the electrode tip
  • Confirm proper gap and alignment to the burner head/cap after installation
  • Check the spark module, switch harness, wiring connections, and burner cap/grounding

Hi Doug. You need to open the door @ 30 degrees. There is a momentary stop there to allow you to lift off the door and to set it aside. You might need to open it all the way , then lock the hinge locking tabs down on the hinges to hold them in place as you will then lift the door up off the inner hinge and pull out gently on the door assembly. Then you will access and see 2-screws holding the underside of the top assy. from comming up. You will need to have already taken off all 4-burner caps, burners and lifted them off disconnecting the wires one at a time from the igniters. This will give you access to the manifold / tubings. You can just remove the individual burner off from the top then disconnect the wire from the igniter itself. I would try this first, before the door and top removal as it will save you time and money.the burner igniter # is W11087383. Thank you.
