Jon I have a Kitchenaide KSCS25INSS00 and the compressor was not running. I replaced the control board and upon plugging in the unit, the compressor goes on, but only for 2-3 minutes. Cool air blows inside the unit, but not enough to really make it cold. Does this sound like the inverter is out too, or only working part of the time? Or, does this sound like a temp sensor somewhere else is out. I see the inverter replacement part pic, but there is an odd black box on the side of the compressor into which goes one of the connectors from the inverter. The two other connector look easy enough to connect, but the one that goes into the black box makes it difficult to see if the connector is the right one (the thick one that comes out the side of the inverter, OEM part W10133449). I cannot figure out how to open the black box, so I cracked it a little (ouch!) and the connector does look different. Any idea what to do here if the connector are different?
Answer Hello Jon. It sounds like either the inverter or the compressor is bad on the unit. Here is a link to our Repair Forum, this is a free service to our customers.
