By: Whirlpool
Part Number: OEM12027132
Manufacturer Part Number: 12001788

The Belt and Isolator Kit is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This kit includes a drive belt and isolators that work together to transfer motion from the motor to the washer drum while dampening vibrations.

Over time, the belt can wear out, stretch, or break due to regular use, heavy loads, or friction. The isolators may also deteriorate, losing their ability to absorb shocks effectively.

Symptoms of a bad Belt and Isolator Kit include:

  • The drum not spinning or agitating
  • Excessive vibration or noise during operation
  • The washer failing to start or complete cycles

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

James for Model Number mmh5500bww

Ref the belt problem everyone is writing about, they are right! The 62662770 which says Maytag on the belt and also 1411J 6 MAEL is TOO short (made in Brazil). Also says hutchinson POLYV(registered). I guess is they manufactured a bunch of these belts too short. Please post this, and where should one get the right belt? These people writing in are correct in what they are saying no matter what the belts say on it. Believe me, stuff like this happens. Someone puts in the wrong software an hundreds of wrong size belts come out. And also the motor is adjusted all the way to the stop on unit and that is not the problem. Motor adjustment is ok.

Answer

Hello James. The belt is very tight and is not to short. You must have the motor bolt loose and start the belt on the motor pulley and roll it onto the large pulley. Again, the belt is extremely tight and this will seem impossible but trust me, it will fit. I personally have installed over 500 of these belts myself and have doubted many of the first few belts I installed.
