Lcs for Model Number GB2FHDXWQ01 Whirlpool Refrigerator w/Bottom Freezer I need to replace the drawer gear on the freezer door of my refrigerator. I watched the video, but I cannot remove the freezer door using the method demonstrated in the video (opening it all the way and then lifting up). Is there a release button or lever that needs to be depressed in order to make be able to remove the cover to the drawer gear so I can replace it?
Answer Hello LCS, the repair procedure video is correct unfortunately what was missed is that the shipping rivet has already been removed. The freezer door is held by two 'T' shaped brackets that sit in the telescoping rails, just in a few inches is a 1/8" aluminum pop rivet, one on each side, they are for shipping only and can be removed by drilling out with a 1/8" drill bit, they do not need to be replaced.
