Lloyd, If you're sure the snap isn't the ice maker sensor arm returning to position or cubes dropping into the ice bin, then it could probably be the overload / relay snapping open or closed. but we would expect a more variable time span and occurrence, unles theres a cooling problem in the refrigerator compartments. You may want to try moving the refrigerator out remove power and remove the compressor cover and check and clean the condenser coil fan, compressor etc. also check to make sure theres no debris or pet hair blocking the front lower grille or under the machine blocking the air flow.
