Phil for Model Number KUDP02CRBS3 I have the same problem with our Kitchenaid dishwasher popping open that seeming hundreds of others have. I have had limited success bending the strike (MFG part # 8574157) down. It seems very flimsy and ineffective (metal fatigue?). Now the door pops open ten or more times during a cycle. I intend to order a new strike, hoping that will solve the problem. I am also thinking of replacing the latch (8193830), since this is the part that engages the strike. Should I replace only the strike first to see if that solves the problem, or should I replace both? The latch is much more involved to replace. I am hoping the strike alone will solve the problem. I have checked the hinges and the door will stay open at any position, so I don't think there's a problem there.
Answer Hello Phil, You should replaced the striker first then if you are still having problem the latch. Also make sure that the unit is level. An unlevel unit can cause the door to not latch properly. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Saturday, December 8, 2012
