Kelly Woods March 17, 2020 for Model Number KUDS02FRBL0 I've read the other most helpful comments. Here is my scenario, I will let you determine what is needed. A few years ago I replaced the ropes that broke, or at least one did. I now have had an issue for a couple years of the cycle stopping at some point during wash. there is steam when it does complete, and I run the faucet next to washer before. The yellow Start light flashes, I open the door, hit the button and then close and it starts up again and finishes. 80% of the time. I have done series of buttons to do tests, it runs through and completes. I noticed one day when i leaned on or just barely touched the the handle, it stopped. this was the first time i thought it could be the striker or latch. i have always assumed it was heat related. after reading a question, i think it dates back to the rope replacement. could the hinges need replaced? i don't know how to adjust them. should i also replace the latch? i have shopped for new dishwashers and just like the one i have.
1 Answer Kelly, For this issue, the door latch would be the most likely cause of the unit stopping mid cycle. Read More...
Will December 05, 2019 for Model Number 665.16293400 The door is not latching correctly to my dishwasher, and therefore will not start. the metal latch was bent and i tried to adjust it, but that did not fix the problem. This has been ongoing but i could usually push really hard on the door once i closed it and it would start. that no longer works. I think i need both sides of the latch can you please advise what parts that would be.
Mike October 07, 2018 for Model Number KUDP02FRSS0 I replaced the door seal (p/n AP6327300) bought from Appliance Parts Pros a few months ago. After replacing the seal, the door unlatches during the wash cycle. Is it common that after replacing the seal (12 yr old unit) that the latch needs to be replaced? My thought is: the latch not strong enough with a new door seal.
1 Answer Mike, It is not common for the door to pop open when replacing the seal. A suggestion would be to push the door to latch and leave for a day or 2 to see if this will help to get the door to seat into the gasket better. You could also use a hair drier to see if heating the gasket will help to soften up the gasket to seal and the latch to engage better. If these do not work then this would likely be the latch that is faulty. Read More...
Amanda July 23, 2018 for Model Number KUDK03FTSS2 Dishwasher shuts off during cycle, sometimes it runs for several minutes, sometimes only a couple second. We've replaced: float switch, float, thermal fuse (twice), and today a new control board. It ran longer than it has in awhile but then shut off, I started it when it allowed then it shut off again within seconds. Please help!
1 Answer Amanda, There is a tech sheet behind the kickplate and would be recommended to put the unit into a diagnostic mode and see if errors pop up. This will guide you to what may be faulty. This could be an issue with something caught in the pump but should be popping an error code. Also check to make sure that the door switches are good. Read More...
Scoflaw May 05, 2017 for Model Number KUDSOLDLSS7 I believe the door latch is broken. I ordered and received part 8193830 latch-door this morning. Although it is similar, the part I received does not match the part I'm replacing. With the information provided, can you steer me in the right direction so that I can get the correct part? I need to return the part that was received today. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Scoflaw, If the model number is actually KUDS01DLSS7, you would need to order 8193882. To return the one you have now you will need to please call us at 1-877-477-7278 to set up a return authorization. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Whilst February 14, 2017 for Model Number KUDP02CRBSS1 Dishwasher will stop intermittently,'tap' on door and it will resume. Does the "Latch assy" come with electrical switch? OR: should I just purchase 'electrical switch kit'? Seems to -latch- OK. Thanks.
1 Answer Whilst, The door latch does not come with the switches and you would need to get switch part number WP8269209. Read More...
Randy Q December 11, 2016 for Model Number KUDS01FLSS2 Our kitchen aid dishwasher door pops open while its running. mostly on the rinse cycle. I have read where the striker needs to be tight. the striker on our dish washer does not have screws that I can see holding it down. it does seem to be a little flimsy in the door jam. might need a shim? I have also read about leveling, we are spot on with leveling left to right. how about front to back? Should the dish washer be tilted slightly back ? How about the door latch ? Are there any adjustments there that we can make? thanks randy Q
1 Answer Randy, The strike will hook into the bar that runs across the top. If it is loose you will want to try to make sure that it is securely in place. There are no adjustments on this and would likely be a issue with the latch assembly causing this issue. Also make sure that the strike is not bent. Read More...
Bill March 24, 2016 for Model Number KUDS02FRSS0 The striker inserts into the door latch, but there no click and the door does not lock. The panel green light is on, when i pressed the start key, it still doesn't click to lock. What should I replace?
1 Answer Hello Bill. You will need to order and replace the door latch 8193830 on the unit. Read More...
Nick March 21, 2016 for Model Number KUDP02FRBL3 KUDP02FRBL3 Dishwasher. Have replaced door balance kit, both hinges, strike and the latch. Door still pops open toward the end of the cycle. Unit is level side to side and front to back. The door gasket looks and feels good. The front face of the frame of the machine does not appear to have been distorted. Any suggestions? Is there a way to increase the pressure between the top of the door and the front of the dishwasher by adjusting the springs or some other component?
1 Answer Nick, Unfortunately there is no adjustment to the springs or any other component. The only part that may be able to (but does not appear to) would be be the strike assembly. Maybe try bending it downward slightly if there is not forward back adjustment. Read More...
Andyc January 31, 2016 for Model Number KUDS01FLSS6 My dishwasher door latch lever is the issue. Looking at the part Latch-Door AP3179951 - the image of the latch mechanism doesn't include the lever (the lever is snapped in place onto the latch and has two small assist springs, one on each side of the latch). Does AP3179951 include the latch lever mechanism, or is the lever a separate part (if so, do you know the part #)?
