David for Model Number MAVT634AWW When running the normal cycle, the spin cycle will not engage. The timer knob advances, but the spin cycle will not start. I am having to wash/rinse on the normal cycle, but spin on the gentle cycle. Does this sound as if I have a faulty timer?
Answer Hello David. Test for power from timer to the motor. If no power, replace the timer. If there is power, replace the motor. This is a 2 speed motor and can fail on the high speed and work on the slow speed. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
