Don for Model Number GT4185SKQ0 Earlier I posted a question about my microwave failing to heat anything in the oven. It started to function a short time later after I removed it from the cabinet. When it failed the main fan was working because it was blowing hot air from the interior. Also the turntable and light was on. When I had it open the stirrer was also functioning. From the schematic I found inside it looks like relay 2 powers the magnetron and the humidity sensor allows relay 2 to latch. The only other thing I see that would prevent the magnetron from broadcasting, apart from its failure is the cap, HV transformer, or diode failure. Any thoughts? My only knowledge of microwaves is from 5g radio navigation equipment my former employer had for surveying. Thank you!
Answer Don, There is a thermostat on the magnetron in which the thermostat could be sticking and causing the magnetron to not heat. This would be the first thing to test. The other thing that would make it intermittent would be the control board as all parts would either work or not work. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, October 5, 2015
