Sam for Model Number WTW5830SW0 Initial issue was loud banging at end of spin cycle. I replaced basket drive/drive block because they were bad. After reassembling, the washer now fills fine but trips the breaker as soon as it gets to the agitate cycle or if I set it to any cycle that uses the motor. The motor never starts up, it trips immediately. I took motor/transmission off and connected everything to see if it would try to run and it trips breaker immediately. Had no other known issues with motor/tripping breaker in the past. I think it's the motor, but I don't want to replace the motor if it's an electrical/wire issue. May have gotten a little water from the hose on some components. I have a multimeter. How do I determine if the issue is a bad motor or something else? Could the motor have been damaged from water? Thank you.
Answer Hello Sam. Unplug the motor and see if it trips the breaker. If not, the motor needs to be replaced. If it does, you have a direct shorted wire on the unit and will need to locate it. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, February 18, 2014
