Jimmy August 27, 2017 Can u replace just the motor shaft transmission side is rounded so coupler won't hold
1 Answer Jimmy, unfortunately the manufacturer does not make that part available separate. If you need a new shaft, you'll have to purchase the complete motor assembly, sorry! Read More...
Chris September 16, 2015 for Model Number LSN1000LW3 Today, the washer ran for 5 minutes, then stopped abruptly with a puff of a smoke. Assuming this was a motor failure. It's 13 years old.
1 Answer Chris, It is possible that the drive motor has failed. You will want to test to see if the motor is getting 120 vac to it. If it is then yes the motor would need replaced. If there is not then there would be an issue with the wiring or the timer. Read More...
Carl July 31, 2015 for Model Number LSQ9600LWO My washer fills up with water in reg cycle. Once its goes to agitate it hums (blew breaker on the first time when wife was washing) and lights on that circuit in room dims(a lot of draw seems). I turned dial to pump out water and spin and that seemed ok. So I turned the dial to gentle and same results. once filled with water hums and lights dimmed. Any help would be appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Carl. Try turning the coupling by hand and see if the transmission is locked up in agitate. If so, you will need to replace the transmission. Read More...
Sammy July 05, 2014 for Model Number gsw9800pw2 whirpool washer Hi...I just purchased, from appliancepartspros.com, a new clutch and motor coupling. I replaced them both and the washer is working fine but when I was replacing them, I saw that the heart of the problem appears to be a worn motor shaft that is loosing its shape and not holding on to the coupling that well (leave a little wiggle room)...instead of replacing the entire motor, anyway to replace just the shaft or any other ideas short of an entire motor replacement?...thanks for your help!
1 Answer Sammy, Unfortunately the motor shaft cannot be replaced separately and the motor would need to be replaced. Read More...
Paul June 10, 2014 for Model Number LCQ9600LG1 Washer fills, wash cycle starts, grinding sound in both directions. Agitator does not make complete motion.
1 Answer Paul, Based on this information you will want to check the agitator dogs to make sure that they are not damaged but with the grinding noise it sounds more like an issue of a bad gearcase. Read More...
Sam February 03, 2014 for Model Number WTW5830SW0 Initial issue was loud banging at end of spin cycle. I replaced basket drive/drive block because they were bad. After reassembling, the washer now fills fine but trips the breaker as soon as it gets to the agitate cycle or if I set it to any cycle that uses the motor. The motor never starts up, it trips immediately. I took motor/transmission off and connected everything to see if it would try to run and it trips breaker immediately. Had no other known issues with motor/tripping breaker in the past. I think it's the motor, but I don't want to replace the motor if it's an electrical/wire issue. May have gotten a little water from the hose on some components. I have a multimeter. How do I determine if the issue is a bad motor or something else? Could the motor have been damaged from water? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Sam. Unplug the motor and see if it trips the breaker. If not, the motor needs to be replaced. If it does, you have a direct shorted wire on the unit and will need to locate it. Read More...
Joe October 01, 2013 for Model Number GSW9650LWO My Whirlpool washer spins good but when goes into rinse cycle the motor clicks on and off and the tub jerks. It does this on normal and delicate side too. Is it the motor or could it be in the timer?
1 Answer Hello Joe. Test for power fluctuations. If there, replace the timer. If not, replace the motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Tom June 24, 2013 for Model Number Model GSQ9632lwo Our washer fills up but will not work or pump the water. I removed the pump and I can spin the motor by hand. When turned on I can hear a humming noise. Timer was replaced about 18 months ago. I thank You in advance for Your help.
1 Answer Hello Tom. If the lid switch is good, then you need to check and see if the motor is bad or the timer. The motor is a 2 direction motor. If the timer is powering both legs, then you need to replace the timer. If just one leg is powered, but the motor hums, you will need to replace the motor. Use the wiring diagram in the control panel to test this. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Scott June 17, 2013 for Model Number GST9679PB1 My Whirlpool washer blew a capacitor, I replaced the cap and the washer seems to work fine except it still smells like something is electrical burning on the spin cycle. Could it be just the motor?
1 Answer Hello Scott. It could be the motor bad or the bearings are bad and causing friction in the unit. Read More...
Rick March 10, 2013 for Model Number 11025852400 My washer stopped in the middle of a cycle, full of water. It won't spin or pump. I can hear the motor hum. I took the motor off and tried to turn the shaft with a wrench. It feels like it is draging.
1 Answer Hello Rick. If the motor is tight and dragging, you will need to replace the motor. If it turns good, and the unit hums, you may need to order and replace the timer in the unit. Read More...
