Bryan for Model Number ED2VHGXMT00 My ice maker works but does not dispense ice. When pressing the lever on the exterior for ice you can hear the chute door open and the motor is running, but the auger doesn't move. I can take the bucket out and manually turn the auger okay. When I have the bucket out and tape down the door switch and use the exterior lever the motor that turns the auger does rotate, however if you put any pressure on the (what I'm going to incorrectly call a) "wing nut" it stops as the shafts rotates inside the nut. I can tell that is what is supposed to grab the auger from the back side of the bucket and turn it but it seems like it doesn't have any strength to do that. Any help with this? I've seen a couple of posts about that potentially being stripped but the symptoms were not the exact same as my own.
Answer Bryan, First check to see if the drive yoke WPW10169511 has 'stripped out" on the motor shaft, (it has reversed threads) if not replace the auger motor. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, January 18, 2017
