Richard for Model Number 665.1350595 Compactor cycles normally in the "Normal" position. In the "Extra Pac" mode, the ram will stop at whatever position it is in when the start knob is released. If the knob is held down it will lower completely and then return to the top. If you release the knob at any point in between the ram will stop moving and remain in that spot. The contacts in the cycle switch and the top limit/directional switch both operate correctly when checked with a continuity meter. Is there anything else I should check before order a replacement motor drive?
Answer Richard, For the motor stopping when releasing the knob on then this would be a bad motor. In the extra pac mode power to the motor run winding is routed thru and extra switch on the motor centrifugal switch. This switch, (Orange/Black wire to Yellow) closes when the motor reaches normal run speed. With this switch being bad you would need a new motor. Read More...
