Dave for Model Number KUCS02CRSS

Unit has solid and normal buttons/switch. When set to normal, the unit cycles fine. When set to solid, I have to hold the start switch in the start position to get the motor to operate; however, the ram makes that knocking noise and doesn't go down. As a workaround, I have been setting to normal and waiting for the ram to go down just far enough before it starts to come back up. At that point, if I hit the solid button, the motor shuts off with the ram in the down position. When I am ready to open it again, I hit the normal button and the ram finishes the cycle. Does this sound like the motor switch or something else? Thanks!

Answer

Hi Dave. Unit won’t keep running.• Top limit switch contacts open part # WP777811. • “Solid or Dense Pack” cycle switch contacts open whether in “on” or “off” state (only on equipped models) part # 9872148. • Centrifugal switch contacts open (orange/black switch) part # W10439651. Use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. From what you described then I would focus on the Push button switch using the supplied wiring diagram stuck on the back of the unit. Thank You.
