This is a Whirlpool washer drive motor and control board. The drive motor and motor control board are responsible for the spin cycles of the washer. A faulty motor may show signs of malfunction through a slower than average spin cycle. When the control board shorts out, the washer typically will not spin at all.Begin installation by removing the body of the washer. There are two screws at the base of the console. Remove these screws and flip the console back. Two clips are holding the body in place. Remove them with a flat-head screwdriver. Push these clips and pull the body off the washer. Now that the motor is exposed, remove the screws holding the motor in place with a nut driver. Two more clips fasten the motor. Push these clips with the flat head, and the motor is free to remove. Unplug the control board's wire harness from the washer. The new component is ready for install after these steps. The part is sourced directly from the manufacturer as a genuine OEM product. This kit is sold separately from the washer. This product is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, and Admiral appliances.

Dana for Model Number mah3000awa

I'm gonna start from the beginning!! bought a neptune washer and dryer from a friend, paid 100 bucks for both, they look great and were clean inside and out. was told that a repair man replaced the motor but still didn't work, read a bunch and decided to replace the wax motor, and did. the upper control panel has no blown resistor and looks good, (no burnt areas or corrosion at all). after that the washer would power up and move the drum slowly for a few seconds and shut off. I was told that when you replace the motor, you need to replace it with the matching control board, so I ordered AP4010145 motor kit from you guys and installed it. needless to say I'm still having problems. when you press the power button it will splash a little water in and turn the motor a bit and shut off, and that's all. I just ordered a set of indicator lights and an on\off button, I managed to break off the delay and on lights, and the door locked light don't light up. the door locks and the inside light button does work. I'm replacing the lights for obvious reasons and replacing the start button because I have to hold it down for a second for it to do what it does. am I going in the right direction? btw, the drum spins nice and smooth, the front seal looks beautiful, the lock on the door works great. the inside of the washer is clean and looks as good as new.

Answer

Hello Dana. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the main control board 22002988 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. It sounds like the control board is shutting down the unit. Hope this helps.
