Mae for Model Number 12002039 my maytag neptune solid door washer makes a loud spinning noise on the final spin like a jet taking off . A repairman said the motor needs replacing because the bearings are bad. Can the bearings be replaced without buying another motor. If the motor needs replacing is it difficult to replace?
Answer Mae, Are you sure the repairman said you need a new motor ? And not a new outer tub assembly or tub bearings ? Sorry but No, if the motor bearings are damaged or noisy they are not available as a separate component, and the motor assembly or motor kit will need to be replaced. Replacing the motor assembly is not that difficult for an average DIY'r The hardest part is moving the washer to access the parts that need to be replaced. If you re post with the model and serial number of your washer, we'll be happy to research the proper parts you need and advise you of the repair procedure. Thanks Read More...
