Keith B. for Model Number MAH4000AWQ Basement flooded with 3-4 inches of water. Cleaned up water and tried to use laundry . Washer will fill and then just hum , no drum motion. I looked inside and could see that water had reached the board and possibly motor. Before I put more money into this machine , are there other expensive repairs that I could require? Machine will pump water out if I advance the timer.
Answer Hello Keith. If the main board is sending power to the motor control board, then you should be ok with replacing the motor and the board. Check the tub bearing on the machine by turning the tub by hand, and make sure it is not dragging. If it feels good, then the motor and board kit should fix your problem. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
