Austin for Model Number 11047781701 Hello- I am in the process of servicing / repairing my HE5t Kenmore, replacing the tub bearings/seal (due to squeaking noise developing when the machine was last being used regularly) and the water inlet assembly (which somehow got cracked, possibly during the move, preventing the machine from being used). Other things look ok, but wanted to ask a dumb question about the motor itself- I suspect it is probably of the "permanently lubed" variety but wanted to check if there was anything I should do in this regard as a preventative maintenance while I have everything apart. It seems to be ok as far as lack of play in the shaft, turning freely, etc. I do feel that it doesn't turn as quietly as when new, but its not like there's grinding / squeaking or anything like that. Thank you for your time-
Answer Austin, There is really no preventative maintenance that would be needed for the drive motor on the unit. If the motor is operating with no noise then it would be fine and if there is squeaking then the issue will be a motor that is bad. Read More...
