Dee for Model Number WFW9200SQ10 Washer is making a loud knocking noise and oil leaking from motor under the drum. Does this require replacement of the Drive motor and drum bearing assembly too?
Answer Dee, Remove the rear cover and find the drive pulley that has the belt around it. Make sure that has not loosened up. Also, make sure the shocks have not come loose and knocking around inside the cabinet. There are 4 of these and you should see them with the rear cover removed. You can run a spin cycle and watch from the rear and determine where the noise is coming from. A bearing gone bad would be more of a roar unless it's letting the inner tub bounce up and down. A little more inspection is needed to find the source of oil. That motor should not have oil in or on it. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, September 13, 2018
