Joe for Model Number WRF736SDAM12 I've troubleshot my evaporator freezing up problem back to the bi-metal switch; when I jumper across this switch the controls allow the defrost heater to warm up. After defrosting and letting everything return to full cold overnight, running service test 6 "Defrost Heater/Bi-Metal" tells me that the bi-metal is still open. I've identified the fan assembly WPW10514110 as the necessary replacement part because it includes the switch. My question is, do you sell this switch (or a suitable substitute) separately so that I don't have to buy the whole assembly? My fan works and the resistance across the thermistor is consistent with the tech specs, so I really don't need to buy the whole thing. I could easily splice the switch into the harness.
Answer Joe, unfortunately, the manufacturer does not show the bi-metal separately from the fan assembly W11452196. As this is the case, we would not be able to recommend an alternative. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Sunday, August 29, 2021
