Jassi for Model Number KDTE204ESS1 Control board replaced 3 months ago, no issues for 3 months then start getting 8-7-1error, would clear and it would work for 2 weeks and back to same error. This error did not make sense as when opened the door steam was coming out so the heating element was working fine. Then last week error was 8-2 implying drain, but there was no pool of water and pressing drain button could hear the water being pumped out. Anyway it then stopped cleaning, with no diagnostic error at all. So I had a backup control board and replaced the control module and no change in status. Water is coming in from the side but cant hear the spinning spouts and even opened middle of so called clean nothing inside spinning or wet. I can only suspect the pump is dead but this has been a major pain. Any help appreciated
Answer Hello Jassi, on this model, the control board will disable the heater if it detects certain operating problems. The first fault code referred to the drain pump having a problem, what can happen is part way thru the cycle the drain pump overheats and trips its internal thermostat, the control board will detect that problem, and generate the code, once cooled the drain pump may operate again. With the circulation/wash pump not working on some models, there may no be a code for it showing, but obviously, it is not working, in that case, the Motor /Pump is part W11032770 and the drain pump is WPW10348269. The control board can be reset by running the Service Diagnostics Cyle as per the Tech Sheet that came with your model. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, November 12, 2020
