Justin Kunak for Model Number 665.14573N611

I have a kenmore dishwasher model number 665.14573N611.You push the button to turn dishwasher on and select the wash cycle you want and close the door and hit the start button again to start the dishwasher. The dishwasher fills and after that you hear all kind of clicking going on at bottom of dishwasher and that is it nothing else happens.it does not start washing or the arms donot start spinning on the inside of the dishwasher. After a short time,it drains itself and then fills itself again. It continues to do that while the cycle timer keep counting down till the end of the wash cycle.I am believing it is the dishwasher motor pump that is bad.I was checking to see if your might have any ideas on exactly what my problem could be Thanks so very much for your time.

Answer

Justin, You will want to do a voltage check at the control board to make sure that power is being sent to the motor. If you open the door and access the control board, push the door lock onto the strike to make it think the door is closed, and test from the P5 connector pin 1 to pin 2. There should be 120 Vac at this point after the unit fills with water. If there is power then the wash motor is most likely the issue and if there is no power then the control board will be the issue.
