Since the end of the spindle is now broken, don't we need a new spindle and whatever it is attached to? And, yes, we have checked to see if the drain hose and the air outlet are clogged, and they are not. I can hear the motor work, and then I can also hear a different motor-type sound when I think the pump is trying to work. The sound changed now that the chopper blade doesn't fit any more.
Answer Hello Ginaballina. The chopper assembly attaches to the pump motor assembly WPW10757217. This is the circulation pump for running the water inside the dishwasher. The drain pump WP661658 is a different pump motor. If the shaft for the chopper is broke, you will need to replace the pump motor WPW10757217 also. Hope this helps. Read More...
