Jeff Newton for Model Number 110.28942890 Kenmore series 90 washer. The washer fills properly but will not agitate, drains and spins properly. Upon start of rinse cyle it will fill and then drain, again with no agitation. Not sure it is performing the last spin cycle in the rinse before stopping. Get a few shots of water like I'm used to seeing, and then continues to the end without spinning the water out it just shot in. I bought a replacement timer (used) and it operates in exact same manner. I also replaced the lid switch because I knew it was bad. The switch had failed electrically quite awhile back as it did not interrupt a spin cycle when the lid was open, and tested closed with an ohmmeter at all times. I am assuming a motor or motor start switch problem because I don't hear any motor sound when unit should start agitating. The coupler is obviously ok and the agitator worked fine when the motor did run in the agitate cycle before. It missed an agitate cycle one time last week, ran 6 more loads with no problem and then the agitate problem came back, permanently. Appreciate your thoughts on this one.
Answer Jeff, With there being no sound when it is supposed to be agitating then it sounds like the issue would more likely be a issue with the timer on the unit not sending power to the motor during agitation. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, February 6, 2015
