Gold for Model Number MSD2542VEB00 What's involved in replacing the motor? It looks like it can be changed out after removing the bracket inside the freezer. Is it wired with a clip? What's the easiest way to remove the coupler from the shaft? Thanks
Answer Gold, You're on the right track, Remove power to the refrigerator, remove the bin and most of the shelves, remove the four(4) screws holding the bracket to the back wall, slide the bracket out, carefully(don't damage the liner, etc.) and disconnect the wiring harness to the motor , solenoid, etc. It's sometimes easier to hold the auger motor shaft with a pair of pliers, and turn the auger yoke counterclockwise(reversed threads) until it's loose enough to turn by hand.
