Brad for Model Number GI1500XHS8 Greetings, my Whirlpool ice machine is leaking water into the floor. The leak is from the left side when facing the unit. the unit may run all day with out leaking but it is now to the point it will leak at least once within 24 hrs. Often more than that. I can turn the unit off an back on and then here water draining. The unit is 8yrs old and I don't know if this is time to buy a new one or try and fix this one. Not sure if a valve or pump would be the fix, or if it is worth doing on an older unit. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
Answer Brad, If you remove the panel at the bottom front of the unit, you will see the water valve in which you will want to check this for leaking. It may only be leaking a small amount but can cause it to leak out in the left corner sporatically. The part number for the valve is W10801996. Read More...
