Dan for Model Number MDBH979AWS3 Hi, Seems we are victims of the common problem of Maytag dishwasher touch panel failure. Started by not being able to press "Start", now only the lights on the right side work, left side and center you can clearly see water inside the panel buttons membrane. Only a couple of years old. My question is the ribbon connector from the touch panel. It appears to be directly soldered to our control circuit box (inside the door), but I did not yank on it to be certain. It seems to be the case on this replacement panel, which in appearance matches ours exactly, that it would slip on to a multi-pin connector. Want to verify that is actually the way these connect before purchasing, do not want to be de/resoldering anything. Thanks for any info.
Answer Dan, The touchpad ribbon connector does "plug" onto the pins of the control board connector W11202746. You will not need to de solder or re solder anything. You do want to be careful when you unplug and plug the ribbon connection from the control board, you don't want to bend or break a pin. Take your time and be careful and you'll do fine. Read More...
