David for Model Number Jenn-Air d/w JDB1080AWW Detergent dispenser door not opening. All other function are fine. Solenoid failed? Any way to know without replacing the dispenser? Don't want to throw a lot of parts/money at an old d/w. Thanks!
Answer David, Manually unlatch the door and check for a detergent build up around the latch assembly,it doesn't take a lot to jam the latch. You can remove the torx screws holding the inner door panel to the door frame(disconnect the power to the dishwasher first) remove the wires and test across the wax motor terminals for 2K ohms resistance, no, or low resistance will require repalcing the detergent dispenser WP99003317 You can also conduct a Field Service Test " A Field Service Test may be started by pressing the Heavy Wash key 5 times followed by the Start key within 6 seconds. This will cycle and operate all the components in the dishwasher in less than 10 minutes. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, April 30, 2013
