Susan for Model Number WED8200YW1 We've got light brown streaks appearing on our clothes after they have been in the dryer. This happened once before a couple of years ago and we had a professional come out ($265! ouch!) to replace the felt drum seal. Unfortunately, I did not make note of which seal (front or back) he replaced. My husband wants to attempt this repair himself this time -- is there a way to know whether the front or back (or both) seal needs to be replaced before opening it all up?
Answer Susan, the rear and front drum seal uses the same part number, 280140. What happens is the seals will start to rust out and when clothes get caught in between the seal the the bulkhead, it pinches the clothes and leaves a rust mark on the clothes.
