Bud for Model Number mvwc400vw1 centennial with low hours & easy use. 5 yrs old. I bought a new maytag centennial 5 years ago. it has had light use with no problems until a couple weeks ago i washed a light load and they had spun dry as usual, but machine was going thunk, thunk, thunk, and not spinning. No matter wher I put the dial, it did the same thing. So I let the timer run out. Then the machine worked as normal. Until the next week, when I got black grease on my clothes from under the agitator. Do I need to replace the agitator seal, or the top case shaft seal? I am an ex auto/motorcycle mechanic. How do I remove the transmission? I have seen the great video you have on removing the tub.
Answer Hello Bud. Sounds like the gearbox needs to be replaced. Here is a link to watch a video on replacement. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-neutral-drain-transmission-3360629-ap3096209.html Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, April 1, 2013
