Mel for Model Number Whirlpool Whirlpool Dishwasher not cleaning very well, I don't have the model #, but the 8268433 seal goes on it. I think it's getting enough water, it's hot, both arms spin as does the small white one in the very top. I took both arms off and cleaned the misc debris out and put them back on. It did clean a little better but not like it should. I thought that seal was broken, but I see in the picture, it is supposed to have that space. Any other ideas? Thank You
Answer Hello Mel, First of all, the unit has to be supplied hot water from the home plumbing to make the unit energy efficient. Secondly, the heating circuit in the unit has to raise the water temperature to 140°F in order to produce the chemical reaction from the detergent as it was designed to do. Without this water temperature increase, the unit will only spray water and will not produce a satisfactory wash result. If you could please post a new question and include the model number from your units' I.D. tag, we can look up the wiring diagram for your specific unit to see what components are present that you should test for issues. We will also be able to recommend parts that can be guaranteed to work properly on your unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
