Dan for Model Number KSSC36QTS00 Hello, I had a question in regards to my ice not dispensing and was advised to buy a new motor. I placed the order for the motor but while i was waiting for the shipment I decided to troubleshoot further and test the motor inside my fridge. As I stated in my other question that I could hear the motor spinning and moving the shaft. Upon further troubleshooting it seems as the shaft is not high enough for the coupling. I pulled the old shaft out and moved down the rubber part so the shaft is higher and meets the coupling more. This seems to have resolved my issue but I feel that to fully resolve this I may need a new shaft and coupling. Is it common for the shaft to have to be replaced due to becoming stripped or is it more common for the coupling to be replaced? Also could it be something as small as the drive shaft coupling sleeve wearing down and moving down the shaft so that connection between the shaft and coupling is not deep enough? I am returning my original order of the auger motor. In this situation would it be recommended to buy a new shaft, drive shaft coupling sleeve and/or new coupling piece? Thank you.
Answer Hello Dan, the shaft comes with the plastic collar already installed at the correct position, it should not be able to move or be repositioned, it is WP2318082. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, September 1, 2020
