Andrew for Model Number MHWE300VW00 A leak in in the drain hose of my washer is releasing a slow trickle of water which is finding its way down one of the shock absorbers on its way to the floor. The other three shocks are coated in grease but the slow trickle of soapy water has entirely washed the grease away on the fourth. I started out searching for information on what type of grease to use to re-lubricate the shock, but other comments have led me to believe that there should be no visible grease and that I need to replace all four shocks because the grease I see is indicative of a leak in the shock, not external lubrication. Can you help me get to the truth?
Answer Andrew, there should not be grease coming from the shock absorber. While it is possible to have a light coating if the tub is loaded, there should not be a large accumulation of grease on the absorbers past the natural resting position. Read More...
