Dan January 07, 2021 for Model Number 110-45976404 The right front shock on my washer does not have the insert and twist type of mount on the top end like the left one. It is held in place with a bolt and washer assembly. Does the replacement shock come with the necessary hardware or do I use the original hardware components? Disassembly will be difficult. Why is the left shock mount different from the right?
1 Answer Dan, We are showing that all the of the shocks should be the same and unless someone has changed the shocks at some point in time the right front shock should also be insert twist type. Read More...
Atcs Taught December 22, 2020 for Model Number WFW9351YL00 Why does my washer only have 3 shocks? In most videos I've seen the front loads washers have 4 shocks. Thanks
1 Answer ATCS Taught, the manufacturer will use 3 or 4 shocks depending on the location of the drain pump and how the manufacturer's engineers have designed the unit for efficiency and performance. Read More...
Vinnie July 06, 2020 for Model Number WFW9400SW03 I think my shock absorbers may need replacing. I've looked at the other questions as to how to determine if the shock is bad. Mine have resistance, but also have 3/4 to 1 inch of play without any resistance. Is the play normal without any resistance? I would think that there should never be any play within the shock without there being resistance. Am I correct?
1 Answer Vinnie, as this washer is a front load, the shock absorbers are going to have little resistance as they are used to absorb vibrations rather than center the tub. The washer would need to be checked to ensure that it is level. If it is properly level, the next step would be to wiggle the spin basket inside the tub. If the spin basket has play to be able to wiggle around inside of the tub, the spider shaft (part of the spin basket WPW10269756 which has been discontinued by the manufacturer) and rear tub W10772618 bearings would need to be inspected for failure. The drive belt WPW10388414 would also need to be inspected for signs of slipping and the drive pulley WP8182650 inspected to see if it is loose. Read More...

Steve February 09, 2020 for Model Number ghw9100lwo can you just buy the shock absorber mount. im just looking for the part that connect the shock to the washer the top piece.
1 Answer Steve, The shock absorber actually mounts to the outer tub in the top and it is a molded piece not available separately. Or if you are speaking about a piece of the shock itself it only comes as a unit. Read More...
John January 13, 2020 for Model Number MHWE300VW12 My washer is shaking & banging loudly during the spin cycle. Could bad shocks be the problem? If so, how many shocks does my model MHWE300VW12 need? Please advice. Thank you.
1 Answer John, Based on the information provided the shocks for your machine are part# W10822553 and you would need four of them. Read More...

Gary October 07, 2019 for Model Number WFW9150WW01 Our washer shook a great deal during the spin cycle. Now when it rinses and should cycle into fast spin, the machine shuts the cycle down and beeps an error code of E1F1. Could it shut down the cycle because it senses the tub is out of balance?
1 Answer Gary, this error code is going to indicate that there is a failed relay or a communication issue between the main control and the EEPROM on the main control. As this started occurring after excessive shaking, the wiring harness will need to be inspected for any loose connections or broken wires. At that point, if the wires check good, then the most likely issue is the main control WPW10525369. Read More...
Andrew May 27, 2019 for Model Number MHWE300VW00 A leak in in the drain hose of my washer is releasing a slow trickle of water which is finding its way down one of the shock absorbers on its way to the floor. The other three shocks are coated in grease but the slow trickle of soapy water has entirely washed the grease away on the fourth. I started out searching for information on what type of grease to use to re-lubricate the shock, but other comments have led me to believe that there should be no visible grease and that I need to replace all four shocks because the grease I see is indicative of a leak in the shock, not external lubrication. Can you help me get to the truth?
1 Answer Andrew, there should not be grease coming from the shock absorber. While it is possible to have a light coating if the tub is loaded, there should not be a large accumulation of grease on the absorbers past the natural resting position. Read More...
Al February 02, 2019 for Model Number MFW9700SQ1 I am trying to reduce the vibration of Maytag washer when coming into/out of spinning cycle. I checked one of the shock absorbers disconnected, as well as rocking the whole tub and they seem to move a bit to easy for what I would think for the tub movement they meant to suppress. Are the new shocks supposed to be as hard to move as the guy shows in this youtube video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQ9oVYi0UXw Is there any way to replace the seals or whatever inside them without replacing them whole? Thank you
1 Answer Al, The shocks should be tight and if they are coming apart easily then it would be recommended to replace them. You cannot get the seals in the shocks. Read More...
