Gus for Model Number LA5550XPW3 I have a Whirlpool LA5550XPW3. Your answer to my previous question was that the agitator for this model only comes as a fully assembled unit (top and bottom agitators together, AP3019581). You also mentioned that one of the only parts available separately is the filter (top agitator, AP2906586). This seems like a contradiction. My bottom agitator works fine and I recently bought the top agitator new. How do the top and bottom agitators connect to one another? Do I sit the top one on the bottom one and press them together? Is there anything else holding them together? Thank you.
Answer Gus, I'm sorry for the confusion. The manufacturer does not offer a cam kit with your appliance however they do offer the agitator as complete assembly 387838 or you can purchase the filter as a separate part as part number WP63753. The bottom agitator and the upper agitator (filter) snap together and the agitator bolts holds the two items tightly together when installed. Hope this information helps you! Read More...
