Mario M. for Model Number LA882 I recently ordered part #208847. I broke off the drain elbow coming out of the back of the washer (small part of it is still sticking out). It seems that this part that I ordered goes on with a twist lock motion, as it has tabs! But the remaining part on the washer has (4) screws holding it in place, and the only way to connect the new, with the old is to remove the screws, and disconnect the broken part that is still connected to the part inside the machine. How do I open the back of the machine to get at the parts? Is there a video showing the repair process?
Answer Hello Mario, Unplug the unit before beginning to prevent injury or death from electrical shock. To open the unit you need to remove the two large Phillips head screw at the bottom of the front panel and remove the front panel. Now you will need to remove the two 3/8 inch head screws, one on each side. This will allow you to raise the main top and access the part. Read More...
