Dan for Model Number KUDS01FLSS6 8269426 Latch Strike...Since our warranty is up I have to do the repairs now...I watched the repair guy install this latch and he would bend it one way then another to get the door from popping open...Wife says its popping open when she uses the Baked On Cookware and High Temp Scrub...but when she uses the normal cycle the door stays closed... Suggestions on how to replace it with anything else I can check would be appreciated... Thanks
Answer Hello Dan, I doubt the issue is electrical since the door doesn't lock, but latches, (a mechanical action). If the tech had to bend and twist the door, the issue is most likely a misalignment due to the door hinges, right hinge W11612303 left hinge W11612302, being malformed or the unit is not secure or in a bind under the countertop/cabinets. Since the door strike will affect the operation of both door switches, this will affect unit operation. It can even cause the door to try to "spring" open since the door panel isn't striking squarely on the door seal area. Since the latch strike has been manipulated, it may need to be replaced also.
