Jethro for Model Number wtw6400sw2 I have constant "UL" code and banging and noise. I looked at my suspension rods all are in tact and not rusted or broken, when they go bad, is it just the spring lost its tension to support drum? Or should I see something broken or rusted or loose? Also I opend top and looked at all the rods but did not take a very close detail look, how do you install the rods? does the whole install happen from the top or will I need to tilt or lay washer on side to access the bottom of the drum? Confused and other answers ared vauge??? thanks Jeff PS as soon as I get your answer I will purchase the kit, thanks also is there only one kit or a certain part# for my model# wtw6400sw2
Answer Jethro, It's not that common for the springs or rods fail, but the pivots on the top of the assembly can "dry" out and need lubrication. "1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Turn off the water supply to the washer. 3. Disconnect the hot and cold water hoses from the rear of the washer, and remove the end of the drain hose from the standpipe or laundry tub. 4. Remove the basket and lint filter from the washer NOTE: Have a shop cloth handy to clean off any grease from your hands.5. Remove the four suspension rod assemblies from the washer. To remove a rod assembly: a) Grasp the rod several inches below the suspension ball, and lift the rod so the hooked end is free of the ball.b) Rotate the suspension ball so that the slotted side is parallel with the hooked end of the rod, and slide the rod out of the ball. Keep the ball in its holder. c) Reach down along the side of the tub, and press in on the suspension rod holder locking tabs, then push the holder out of the tub opening. d) Position the suspension rod through the slot in the tub opening, and remove the rod assembly from the washer. NOTE: Unsnap the wire holder from the right rear suspension rod before removing it." clean and lube both the "ball and socket" on all four rods, and reverse the procedure. Also insure the washer is level in both directions and the leveling leg lock bolts are tight and locked in place. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
