Doug for Model Number Maytag Bravos XL mvwb880bw0 Hello, My Maytag Bravos XL started giving the UL code on most loads during the last spin cycle, even when the load was unbalanced. A few days later, the washer would fill with water but then nothing would happen. I replaced the rotor position sensor and the washer started to work again, but I am still getting a UL code on most of my loads. The wash tub does seem to move back and forth quite a bit and I've wondered if the suspension rods could be going bad? Any help would be much appreciated.
Answer Doug, You may want to check a couple of other components that could also cause the UL code, first. Check the motor rotor bolt(in the center of the motor cover) make sure it is as tight as possible. Then remove the wash plate and tub to check the basket hub and drive W10820039 for damage and debris, If the drive gear or hub is distorted or blocked, and the tub cannot "drop" down and engage the drive gear properly the control can produce a UL error code.
