Cheryl for Model Number Jenn-Air JED8430BDS18 I am replacing the surface element switch on a double burner. I have a new switch (WP74011242) but the new one has items like H1, H2,L2, L1 P2 and one with no marking. The old switch has 1,2,3,4,5,6 & N. I don't know how to wire it. The lady I talked to earlier on here told me it was the corrct switch. Can you tell me what color wires go to which spot on the new one? Thank you, Cheryl
Answer Cheryl, the switch needed for the dual element is part number WP74008248. For the dual burner switch, the tan wire goes to the terminal 4, yellow will go to 4a, the double black wire would go to P1, the black jumper wire will go to the second terminal at P1 and S1, the single red wire will go to 2, the double red wire will go to P2, and the orange wire will go to S2.
