Ronwm for Model Number LER7848DZ1 My Whirlpool electric dryer will only run if I'm pulling on the timer knob. While it's running the drum will spin, heat will build up and it appears to operate normally. But I have to be pulling on the timer knob for the dryer to be running. If I let go then it will just shut off. I can then press the start button again, pull on the timer knob and it starts running again. But when I let go of the timer knob it shuts right off. I've tested the fuse, but it still shuts down in the same fashion when the fuse is bypassed. I'm assuming that replacing the timber will fix the issue, but was hoping to get your input first. Thanks.
Answer Hello Ronwm. Yes, it sounds like the timer is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, November 3, 2014
