By: Whirlpool
Part Number: OEM18018777
Manufacturer Part Number: WP22002044

This tub displacement switch monitors water level/pressure to help the washer detect tub fill and balance, reducing overfill and load sensing errors. It replaces a worn or faulty unit to restore reliable fill and balance sensing. What it does:

  • Senses tub water displacement/pressure changes so the washer can detect correct fill and load balance
  • Helps prevent overfilling and supports proper spin cycles by reporting tub condition to the control
  • Commonly replaced when washer overfills, won't start spin, or shows erratic fill behavior
What's included: One tub displacement switch Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before accessing internal components to avoid shock
  • Mounts to the washer chassis with electrical connector and vacuum/pressure hose; reuse existing hose if undamaged
  • Verify hose and fittings are intact and free of blockages before installation

MAH4000/5000 NEPTUNE NO SPIN ISSUE; Hi Randy. You can temporarily bypass these switches by carefully connecting these together and using elect. tape to isolate these during test. The switch part # is WP22002044. Does the door lock light still light up ? It will not reach high speed spin unless it does. Is the water all out of the tub ? If the pump is clogged or the pressure switch not satisfied (as empty) it will not spin out. Remove the top. Remove the hose from the pressure switch. Blow back into it towards the tub and see if there is a restriction (lint) from allowing the pressure switch to operate correctly. You will need a volt meter for the following test.... Use the L-1 black relay input as a common point for your black meter lead(-). Remember this is all live voltage test. Then use the red meter lead (+) at the machine control board (behind the timer) for output of 24 vdc out put at red wire of p3 connector pin #1. If OK, then put the red meter lead at the p2- conn. orange # 4 wire this also will have the 24 vdc return there if all the tub displacement switches are closed. Then check to see if the spin enable switch (inside the door latch ) sends back the 24vdc at the p-3 connector yellow wire # 7. If so then check the p-4 connector pin # 3 blue wire to see if the board puts out 24vdc to the motor circuit. Then check p-4 conn pin #2 red wire for 24 vdc (may also fluctuate). Then the tach circuit with the yellow wire p-4 pin # 1 yellow (fluctuates with the motor rpm) as the motor increase the voltage increases up to 24vdc. If the motor is at rest, the voltage will drop to 0 vdc. Check P# 4 conn. pin 2 red wire (it is the torque circuit). It also fluctuates the same as the 24 vdc mentioned . The machine control board is part # 22004488. If the door is not locking, then you will need to also change the latch assy. It is part # WP22003593. The motor control board kit is part # 12002039. It comes with the complete motor , tach circuit wires and the motor control board. What is the serial # completely ? Thank You.
