Jhonny for Model Number WTW5300VW2 Hello, My washer starts the drain cycle but after 3 seconds it stops and the tub starts to rotate. I would lower the hose and it would drain. As the water gets lesser the tub would rotate faster. I would then replace the hose higher and it works fine. Have to do the same on the spin cycle. Coupling changed, Clutch assembly changed also replaced the drain pump with a used pump. Should I purchase a new pump and lid switch? I just love this washer.
Answer Jhonny, based on the information provided, it sounds like the timer WP8577356 contacts are switching out early and causing the neutral in the transmission to switch over to the spin mode. The timer is supposed to run the motor while the transmission is in a neutral position for 2 minutes to allow the water to properly drain before pausing and going into spin. In regards to the water drain, the standpipe should be no more than 39" to 72" in height from the bottom of the washer. The impeller of the drain pump may not be working properly, but verifying the drain pathway would be the first step necessary. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, July 14, 2020
