Lance for Model Number NTW4516FW1

I am having problems with this washer: I can set it to any cycle and it will fill, then agitate, then drain... but the drain cycle never stops. It just keeps "draining" until the washer finally shuts off. If I manually move it to the next cycle "Rinse & Drain", it runs trough that cycle and then does the same thing. Then I run the "spin" cycle and it runs through that cycle and then notifies of "Cycle Complete". I have replaced the shift actuator and the next part I was looking at was the timer, but it is more expensive to replace the timer than it would be to just get another washer. Any thoughts? Water level sensor? I see there is one for the fill cycle, but don't see one that tells it when it is empty. Help!

Answer

Lance, We don't expect the water level/pressure switch or the control board to be the issue, at this point. First check the height of the drain hose, it needs to be 38 to 39 inches high from the floor level. then check that the drain hose in the pipe is not too long or the drain hose isn't "stuffed" down the drain pipe. And make sure the drain hose isn't "sealed" to the drain pipe. Any of these scenarios can cause the washer to "syphon" the water out of the tub and down the drain.
