Cherie H. for Model Number rtw4440vq1 Hi, I have a Roper washer the water level is filling proper however when it reaches the spin cycle the water does not stop running through the machine and is expelled as it spins. I googled this issue and saw a "test" that I performed. I shut the machine off but left the water on, the water did not continue to flow. The FixYa site said it was the pressure switch if the water shut off. I am trying to confirm that this is the problem before ordering the water level switch. Thank you!
Answer Hello Cherie, Basically, the way the test goes is to start the unit filling and unplug the machine. If the water continues to fill, the water valve has failed. If the water stops filling when it is unplugged, the issue is electrical. The pressure switch is the main cause of the issue, (excluding the harness being shorted and the pressure switch hose being clogged). Read More...
