Kevin for Model Number Kenmore Model # 110 76960130 The timer on my electric dryer starts and seems to function normally. However, the motor will not start. I replaced the "push-to-start" switch (which I purchased from you) and the motor still will not start. The door switch appears to be working properly. The blower fan is intact and seems to rotate normally (turned by hand). The thermal fuse is checked "open", indicating failure. The exhaust duct is clear to the outside of the house. Do you think that replacing the fuse alone will solve the problem? Or, is there something else for me to check? What else would cause the thermal fuse to blow? The dryer was running normally, the last time we used it, before it failed to start. P.S. the dryer is about 30 yrs. old!
Answer Hello Kevin. Yes, it should be fine, Just make sure the vent does not get kinked, and the blower wheel inside the unit is good and clean. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, July 29, 2013
