Lori for Model Number GEW9250PW1 My dryer recently stopped heating, although the drum still worked. After reading your posts I purchased a Thermistor from you guys (fast shipping) and just installed it per your video (great tutorial). After 1 minute of running, the E2 Error code appears. Everything I read states that code means you need a new Thermistor? I have checked the connections a number of times on the newly installed part and everything looks great. Any thoughts??
Answer Lori, You will want to test the thermistor at the control board connection to make sure that there is proper resistance. The reason to do a the control board would be so that you are testing the wires as well. At 70 degrees the thermistor should read 11.5K to 13.5K ohms. At 80 it would be between 8.5K and 10.5K ohms. Also test the exhaust thermistor as it could be faulty as well. It is possible that the wiring harness could be bad also. If all checks ok then the issue will be in the control board. Read More...
