Dan B for Model Number 11063954102 (Kenmore) Electric Dryer runs but does not heat up. I have full continuity on the heater box cut off thermostat, the hi limit thermostat, the heating element and the thermal fuse. I have approximately 10,000 OHMS on the Thermistor. If I turn the unit on there is no power getteing to the heating element. I am begining to think it might be something else like the timer. Your thoughts?
Answer Dan, Do you have 220/240 VAC at the terminal block on the back of the dryer, with the cord plugged into the socket ? be careful, that's a live voltage test. You may want to try this, disconnect one of the wies from the element terminal, and start the dryer on a heat cycle, check the empty terminal of the element to chassis ground for 120 VAC, if the wire traces back to the thermostats, you'd have an open wire or a bad contact at the timer. Check from the wire terminal of the wire you removed to chassis ground for 120 VAC, if the wire traces back to the motor, you would have an open wire or a bad heat circuit in the motor switch.
