Leslie for Model Number 11078832700 We have a Kenmore Model # 110.78832700 gas dryer. It is not drying very well (slowly) and we notice a lot of loud clicking noises. The vent ducting and exhaust tube is clean. The blower wheel appears relatively clean (didn't actually remove sheet metal housing to clean out). When we turn the dryer on we do see the burner assembly glow red and then the gas ignites. However it just cuts off soon after and this on/off cycling repeats much too often (>= once a minute). We hear a loud click before it ignites (not sure what that is) and 1 click when it ignites. There is another click when it cuts off I think. At room temperature the resistance of the two coils measures w/in specs. The Dryer Thermister is measuring 12.5 kohm at room temperature. I've been told that even though the coils are measuring the right resistance at room temp. they could still be the culprit and be misbehaving once at high temp. Should I replace the coils (and how to know which one), or do I need to check the High Limit Thermostat or flame sensor?
Answer Hello Leslie. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the coils 279834 may be bad in the unit. Make sure the flame sensor and thermostats are working properly. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, December 15, 2011
