Laurie for Model Number WED6 400Swd Whirlpool cabrio dryer My dryer does not heat. We have replaced the element the high temperature thermostat and the thermo fuse. It still will not heat up. Should we try replacing the thermistor? Also I noticed that the cancel button on the panel does not work now so not sure if that would cause any grief to the problem. We are very perplexed as to why it won't heat. We also checked for lint blockage and all is clear. Oh and we also replaced the moisture sensor too. Please help
Answer Hello Laurie. Make sure there is 240 volts to the unit. If so, then you test for power coming from the relay board WPW10111616 to the heater. If there was none, you need to replace the board in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
